age 45 in 1841 census - means 45-49 therefore born around 1791-
1796, though possibly a few years older.
From IGI of OPR - birth of a William Blain in Inch 02 DEC 1790, father
James. Father of Mary Maxwell may have been a John Maxwell. One would
expect a son James b. at some point before 1828.

It seems likely that William Blain may have been the son of James Blain
(farming in) Dalhaboch. This may be the James Blain married to Janet
McBryd, parents of Peter Blain later farming in Innermessan.
(But alas there is no extant baptism record for this Peter Blain.)
